Jacobite Syrian Vacation Bible School (JSVBS) in MJSSA UK is a joyful and enriching program designed especially for children and young people. Held during school holidays, JSVBS transforms each day into a mini spiritual camp filled with prayer, songs, stories, and engaging activities that reveal God’s love in fun and meaningful ways.
Guided by priests, teachers, and volunteers, children explore Bible lessons and Church traditions in ways that are easy to understand and exciting to experience. Through these lessons, they learn to follow Jesus by being kind, loving, and helpful to those around them.
Each day at JSVBS begins with uplifting prayers and joyful songs, setting a tone of praise and gratitude. Children then dive into Bible stories that spark curiosity and conversation. These stories come alive through:
These activities not only make learning fun but also help children connect deeply with their faith. They build friendships, discover their place in the Church family, and grow in their understanding of God’s love.
VBS is more than a children’s program—it’s a celebration of community. Parents, teachers, and volunteers come together to create a nurturing environment where every child feels seen, supported, and spiritually uplifted. Through this shared effort, the parish grows stronger in faith and fellowship.
The success of JSVBS is deeply tied to the quality of its study materials. With contributions from the Mor Athanasius Jacobite Sunday School under the patronage of St. George Universal Syrian Orthodox Reesh Church, Kuwait, and the continued support of MJSSA India, these resources have become a cornerstone of the program. They offer:
These materials remind children that they are part of a global family of believers—learning, growing, and walking together in God’s love while staying true to the Orthodox faith.
